Johan Pertl grew up in the glass region of Vysočina. Between 2015 and 2018, he studied at the Czech Technical University while simultaneously working at the DECHEM studio. He then began studying at the Glass Studio of the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague (AAAD), where he graduated in 2022. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the same university. "In my glasswork, I am fascinated by the natural and social mechanisms that surround us. I strive to create pieces that withstand the test of time, both aesthetically and functionally. My goal is to craft glass artifacts that families can pass down from generation to generation."
