The vase’s crackling effect is achieved through a delicate process in which the hot hand-blown glass is brushed over sawdust and then quickly dipped in cold water before returning to the kiln for the final time. The result is a unique fragmentary effect that creates a delicate lace that resembles the veining of plants and their roots.
When illuminated by the sun’s rays, the vase plays out a unique drawing game of veins of cracks in the glass. It brings us to a fairy-tale forest landscape, where wood smells and forest flowers.
